Here are the six
demonstrations we did with your students:
1. Liquid Nitrogen- we'll bring a small container, talk about what
it
is and what happens when you put things in it. Then, we'll put a
flower inside, and show what happens.
2. Oscillating Chemical Reaction- this is an iodine reaction that
changes from dark blue to yellow for several minutes. It's very
interesting to watch.
3. Dry Ice and indicator solution- this uses solid carbon dioxide
and
pH color indicating solution.
4. Methanol Cannon- this is a small plastic "cannon" that uses a
soft
cork. It is surprisingly strong.
5. Water to Juice to Milk to Ginger Ale- an experiment where the
same
solution is poured into new containers and it changes color and
consistency.
6. Slime- this is a simple experiment that makes a solid jelly-like
slime.
