Monday, March 30th you need to get a new picture of the trees
in the park... you know...the one on the home page. do it when it's

me a little. i want to know because i will most likly forget it in
the morning and then i won't get any money and then it will be a

For each of the chocies on the homework do
you, for exaple take 'diet and the armies' and talk about in your
paragraph how the armies dieted? Or do you talk about how people in
the 17 hundreds dieted and write about the 17 hundreds armies? What did the people in the armies eat? How did women fit into the armies? Does that help? Mr. A.

i just came home from eating dinner out and

they scartched the science AND social
studies mcas again so not al0t of mcas Fifth grade don't have the Social Studies, but the rest are alive and well! Mr. A.

i just made up like a million (3) chord
sequences and i have nothing to use them for! i need to write a
song. is it easyer to write chords for lyrics or lyrics for
chords??? Let's talk about this today. Mr. A.
Wednesday, March 25th no one has sent any messeges... this means
something... i just practiced one chord sequence on the guitar like
a million times and now i have HUGE callises on my fingers. You're probably right. Sorry about your fingers - but it's good for you in the end! Mr. A.
uh. we start mcas the DAY after my
birthday. like really? its just mean lol jkjk.....ooooh guess what??
i had a soccer game yesterday and i go hit in the face AND had the
air knocked out of me while i couldnt breath anyway. it was fun. at
least we dont have as much MCAS As last year... just ELA for 2 das -
tuesday and friday...i dont know when we have the math one...
anyway.. i hAve to go to soccer now byee It's a pity. Unfortunately, you spring born students will be cursed with the MCAS landing on and about your birthday throughout your school career. What a drag! Still, at least you didn't get hit by a soccer ball. Wait a minute... Mr. A.
Tuesday, March 24th i have this guitar stand that has hinges
and can fold up and it can be used as multiple toys. it can be a jet
pack, a jet pack with a laser, a gun, a gun with a laser, and a
hands-free microphone. I bet they can turn into a zillion toys if you push your imagination. Sandwiches for robots? Spaceships for hamsters? Mr. A.

She's back!!
Hey! today i have like 19 people coming
over to my house for lunch and half of those people are kids under
the age of five! why can't we have family friends with older kids?
though i'm not that bummed out because all of those kids are
extreemly cute. like Francis, she is adopted from Khazacstan (or
however you spell it.) what are the chords to the song John and I
recorded? I had a good bike ride. Also, the best soccer day - Man Utd. lost again, and so did Chelsea!! Now I just need Liverpool to win when they play in about one hour from now!! I've got to do laundry, shopping, and homework grading. Grrr! The chords were G,C,and D! See you tomorrow. Mr. A.

i just came home from the open house at the
mcglin (or however you spell it) and i totally choose the Andrews.
There is nothing to do right now because Adam is watching a scary
movie on TV and i tried to tell him about the nightmares thing but
he said at his age he will not get scared of that stuff. i don't
believe him. i practiced my guitar, i finished my homework, i know
the speech, i don't need to practice any other instruments. but
wait...i could write a song to those chords... for the
new-forming-band-that-does-not-yet-have-a- name.. You rule! Mr. A.
Hey Mike, There's an information page for the whole project from the main Thin Ice page. I really like both CD's. Heartbeat was a pretty neat project, too. That was the class before you. what do we do if the colonial america book
does not say any thing about what happened in the south north or
middle colonies? the moeny thing doesn't say anything about what
colony the stuff happened in. Assume it was the same in each colony. We'll be talking about this all week! Mr. A.

Hi Mr. A, Wow! It sounds like you have a lot of stuff going on. Here's a few thoughts: If somebody makes racist comments to you, and you feel that they're not a joke, they're not a joke, and the person is not really your friend. If somebody lets a cat pee on you, they are not your friend. Once somebody has proved themselves to 'not have your interests at heart', don't treat them like friends, and try to politely avoid them. Some of the behaviors you describe are not the actions of friends, so why try to be friends with them? Your true friends will emerge. You will be able to tell who they are, because they will always treat you with courtesy and respect, or at least honestly apologize when they have done something wrong. Better to be alone than to be surrounded by enemies pretending to be your friends! This is just my opinion. I know it's harder when you're in the situation. For me, I treat my friends like friends, every day. I expect the same from them, everyday. If I don't get that, I start to gently push them away! I hope this might give you something to think about. If you have a private email, we can keep talking about this stuff in private, rather than here for the whole world to see. Let me know! Mr. A.

Well the mountains are just fine, I really
enjoyed doing the Revolutionary War segment of school. It feels good
to write to you, 'cause my current teacher now she really wants us
to learn how to write correctly, also I'm one of the at least top
five spellers in our class (lot's of them forget to capitalize, or
they capitalize when it's not neccesary to do). I have to say this
but it's mean there are alot of obese kids at my school and when I
say obese I mean FAT! There are two fourth grader girls who ways at
least twice what I do, then there this kid Jason who I knew since
third grade he's got to be over 280 pounds. Well I got to go I have
a three day weekend to enjoy. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the Revolutionary War work, and that your technical writing is still good. What a pity for your new friends. Let's hope for the best for them! Mr. A.

correct and what does artwork mean? also does the insturmentalist

heyy sorry i havent written.... i was in
yellowstone! i tried typing it on my phone but there were no bars in
wyoming (: but anyway...it was reallY fun!! we took an 8 1/2 hour
snowmobeill ride and we went through 2 herds of bison. with 50 bison
in each herd. ya. scary. but it was Wicked fun! thats really

i got the 'Out of the Dust' book and i
started it right when i got home from the book fair. in the book it
doesn't tell you the girl who is speeking right off the bat. does it
tell you? It's the same girl all the way through the book. Karen Hesse wrote 'Witness' after 'Out of the dust'. I have the book she wrote after 'Witness', if you're interested. Mr. A.
Thursday, February 26th right now i'm listening to the song 'the
talker' from heartbeat. it goes 'Mr.allen won't shut up! Mr.allen
won't shut up!' though it is very catchy. Listen to 'The Execution' - that's my favorite - but there are loads of great songs on 'Heartbeat'! Mr. A.

hi it's Ee-un, I figured out the answer to
a math puzzle.the question was: at a business meeting everybody
shook hands with everybody else once. if there were 15 hand shakes
how many people were at the meeting? I'm not convinced about the mutant egg, however I think the handshakes solution is accurate! The egg came first because creatures were using eggs for reproduction long before the evolution of the chicken. There were eggs millions of years before there were chickens! Mr. A.

Guess what.......I figured out the answer
for one of the math puzzles. The question was. At a bussiness
meeting each person shock hands with every other persoon exactly
once. If there were fifthteen hand-shakes, can you tell how many

Hey, I was just doing a problem on the math
homework and I realized that I always think about things in math so
complexly. Like on one of the problems on the last homework, the
question was: if 50 counters are a whole, what fraction is 45
counters I wrote (after a while) 9/10, though I could have writen
45/50. 9/10 is a better answer - it's a simplified fraction! Not complex at all! Mr. A.

got from work and it came with an excell sheet and when u tried to
open the excell sheet, it would say wat is the password and you
would type in your answer into the password thingy and it would open
if you got it right but i couldnt get the thing on this so just try
to answer the question and i will let you know if you got it right
or not. THIS IS A 5TH GRADE MATH QUESTION. ( it took me a while to

hello Mr. Allen. this is Ian. I'm hoping
that this year will be better than last for America. only 18 days
until Obama is in office. anyways, I got lots of stuff for Xmas, I
got some video games and a camera from my parents. My uncle gave me
a loony toons (an ancient cartoon from when my mom was a kid)
collection. when I watched them I started to wonder why parents
think that cartoons these days are mindless and violent. anyways
after Xmas my dad bought a Wii fit for no apparent reason, a Wii fit
is basicly a video game that combines fun and fitness activities,
what you do is stand on this board and do stuff, in balance games
you can shift your weight to the left,right, front or back to
control whatever is on the screen, this helps improve your balance.
second there is aerobics witch help burn calories like running in
place and swinging your hips. it has lots of other stuff like yoga
but I'm getting bored of typing so I think i'll stop explaining it.

i got the new iPod nano,(pink) and theeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..............THE
CLIQUE SUMMER COLLECTION GIFT SET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it came
with the 5 summer collection books, 5 lipglosses to go with each of
the charitars, and a pouch that said THE CLIQUE on it!! but
anyways....i also got clothes from abercrombie,PINK, and areopostle.
then i got over $300 so i went to abicrombie, american eagle,
areopostle, PINK, Juicy Couture, and more stores!! i also got black
and chesnut Uggs, some games for the Wii, and some other little
accsesories such as, a hat, (that i really really love!!) leather
gloves, candy, slippers, earrings, and a iTunes gift card. i'm
soooooooooooooooooooooo excited!! and to add to it....Grace is
bringing me, Maddi, and a girl from another class, (who i know) to
the Nutcracker!! so i went MAJOR shopping yesterday and got whatever
i wanted!! i'm not gonna tell u what i got because you'll have to

Hi, Ian here. although I would much rather
have been working on the show yesterday I understand why they called
off school, I hope that people notice what happened in central
Massachusetts, the poor kids missed so much school that they don't
have a February vacation. If we can't do a show were not going to
die, none of the other classes are doing shows (but I do still want
to do the show!). Today I went tunneling through the piles of snow
produced by the snow shoveled off to the side of the driveway, my
tunnel met up with Nicky'sand we both got stuck. Nicky caved in the
tunnel and he got covered in snow. Our neighbor helped him out.
Maya, the neighbor hood dog played with us too. anyways, I kinda
just wanted to say hi, so hi. Bye-ya. Hi. Glad you had fun in the snow. We do have plans for the half day - rebuilding the classroom! Had any thoughts about how to save the story for the Show?
