New guidelines for yearbook pages.
As you complete the "All About Me" page for the
5th Grade Yearbook, please bear in mind
these publishing guidelines:
1. Give yourself a bit of time to plan what you will include on the
page.
2. Leave 1" margins on all sides of the page.
3. Type your writing whenever possible.
4. When you include writing, focus on the positive.
5. Artwork should be done carefully to both look good and copy well
(for example, too
many eraser marks might look blurry).

Dear Grade 5 Families,
The Grade 5 Year End Events Committee will meet after school (2:45) on
Monday, March 5 in the parent room. Some students have activities at
school until 4:00 and we thought this may be a good time to meet. You
are welcome to bring your children if they are not in a class. This
could be a good time for them to get homework started. We need to make
some decisions on how to proceed with the yearbook and Moving on
Celebration based on how many volunteers we have. The agenda below will
give you an idea of what each event involves. Please contact Julie
Andrew (393-5525,
jmandrew5@comcast.net) or Karen Smith (396-4599,
ksmithpeimei@comcast.net) if you cannot make the meeting and are
willing to take on a piece of the planning.
Thank you,
Grade 5 Year End Events Committee

Dear Students,
How quickly time goes by -- it’s February already! We have been making
arrangements for the yearbook and started planning for the Moving on
Celebration at the end of the year. Thank you all for sending in your
surveys. The results were tallied and are listed below. The date for
the Moving on Celebration is confirmed for the evening of Friday, June
15. Please save the date! More information will follow.
At this time, we need your help getting started on your “All About Me”
pages for the yearbook. Each of you will have an individual page with
your photograph and information you want to include about “You”. You
may include your favorite memories of school, teachers, friends,
hobbies, photographs, music, sports … any interests you may have and
anything that tells us about YOU. Be creative! A few samples from
previous years will be left in your classroom to look at.
We have enclosed two form pages you may choose from with a space for
your name and photograph or you can make one of your own. If you make
your own, please make sure you leave a space in the upper right hand
corner for your name and a current photograph, and be sure to leave a
one inch left margin for the binding. Please attach a current
photograph in the upper right corner if you have NOT already sent one in
with your yearbook package. Please contact your classroom coordinator
(below) if you are unsure.
PLEASE DO NOT FOLD YOUR PAPER. These will be the originals used for the
printer. Please return your page no later than Friday, March 9. We
will have an envelope in your classroom for finished sheets. Please
contact Julie Andrew (jmandrew5@comcast.net/393-5525)
or your class coordinator if you have any questions.
Survey results:
Party Theme: “Sports” (This will be the theme for the
decorations,optional attire, activities and games.)
Top five songs in order: We Fly High, It Ends Tonight, Move Along, Show
Stopper, and Irreplaceable
Top food choice: Pizza
Thank you,
Grade 5 Year End Events Committee
