I've started a list of Kid Friendly Current Events Sites. If you can send links for others you know of, I will add them to the list. Cheers! - mike
UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
Science News for Kids is a new Web site devoted to science news for children of ages 9 to 14. This seems a pretty good site, although I think it worth noting that it is sponsored by Shell Oil!
Children's News with a distinctive British flavor.
'Magic', the UNICEF website filled with, 'media activities and Good ideas by, for and with children'!
'Our mission is to provide children around the world with an
absolutely free educational resource. A way to learn, while also
having fun. We believe that the best resources should not be
reserved for those who can afford them, but should be made available
to everyone, everywhere, without cost. Using the power of the
Internet, this goal is possible.
The articles I read seemed pitched to a decent level for the age group, with plenty of depth and challenge.
I liked this site. This site has simple, clear, and concise summaries of the issues. For many students, this site is a good place to start to find out about a current event of interest.
Got to be good. Surely!
