Hey all you new fifth graders. This is Eddie and
Ridge. This is our very own blog.
Eddie: This morning I went on a WALK! I love WALKS! There are so
many things to smell. Which my nose can smell. Plus, there are a lot
of birdies and squirrels to chase. But, I can’t chase them because I
am on a leash. We always walk the same way, and we get to walk with
RIDGE! As you can see Ridge and I are friends. That is why I made it
BIG! AND I AM NOW GETTING EXCITED. SORRY, I AM TOO HIPER, I HACE TO
WRITE SOME EXPAINATION
MARKS!!!!!!!!!
Okay, now I am all right. Back to what I was saying. When we see
Ridge I am so excited!
“Oh boy, oh boy it’s my friend RIDGE! Mommy please let go of the
leash, come on just once. Hey Ridge, where are you going? Why are
you walking away from me? Oh yeah, your coming to say hi. Hi, hi.
Wait, we didn’t get to sniff each other. Well at least we get to
keep walking.
Sorry, I have to go. Daddy is taking out my Mat! It is really his
mat, but I say it is mine. Plus, I always play with him on it. My
mat smells so good when I play on it.

Ridge: Hi this is ridge.
I hear the word walk. Are we really going to go on a walk! We always
walk to the bus top in the mornings. There tons of kids there that
shout my name and play with me. Plus, there is Eddie, and sometimes
Brutus, and sometimes Sophie. I am a big dog. But, Brutus is even
bigger. It is so fun. There are also tons of birds, and other small
animals.
I better go now before they leave on the walk without me.

Something is always in the way. Something usually stops me from
doing what I to do. Okay, okay I will tell you. This time it was
glass. If there wasn’t glass in the world, I would have gotten
those chipmunks. There tons of chipmunks in my kingdom, or MorMor
and FarFar’s place. There was like 20! Chipmunks. Okay 3. But
they were just eating, and eating the bird feed. I wasn’t let out
the door, I couldn’t chase them away. I have to go now.

Hi peoples (and their dogs)
It is I, Holly the border collie (ha ha! it rhymes!) Sorry I haven't
written in a while. My owner just got some sheeps and they just will
not stay together no matter how much I try and herd them! They are
all white except for one lonely outcast. She's brown and I call her
The Brown Lonely Outcast Lamb. There's also a new dog who lives
across the farm. Her name is Candy and she stole the name of one of
my (or my owner's) miniature horses. I got really angry. SHe's a
collie too, just not a border collie. I don't like her very much,
mind you, I don't like very many dogs at all. (except for you eddie
and ridge!) She lives with two other dogs (neither of which i
like)stupidly named Nadia and Aidan. They're twins and Nadia's name
spelt backwards is aidaN and Aidan's name spelt back wards is nadiA.
I know, weird, right? They are so sort of retriever, but they're
brown. I bet they're mutts. Anyway those cats are fighting again and
I'd better break it up. SUPER HOLLY THE FABULOUS, FANTASTIC, BORDER

Hello this is Eddie,
I have not written in a while cause I have been busy. Thank
you Mr.Allen for not taking our blog off the website. Today I got
WET! I hate getting wet. I don’t like baths. I only like to get
in tub after someone has taken a bath and lick it. One time I
jumped after someone took a shower, except it had water in it. My
paws got wet, I didn’t like it. Daddy had to wipe my paws off. But
now I am h0ot it is
sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot.

Saturday May 31st
I'm the new dog on the blog. The name's Holly. I'm a border
collie and live in Maine on a farm with ponies, and calfs, and
goats, and llamas, and sheep, and cats, and chickens, and bunnies,
and pidgeons - once we even had a peacock! My life is different from
the other dogs, Eddie and Ridge, and I've decided I'm gonna write
about it. Supposedly, my owner, Talia lives with all you guys and
she's friends with Eddie and Ridge's owners.
Run, run, run, run, RUN! There's soooo much space around here to
run! Endless streets to run through and animals to herd, kids to
play with! I'm more happy than any other dog! Ooh look! It's the
ponies! They're not together. I run over to their ankles. Bite,
bite, CHOMP! Strokey the big pony raises his hoof and he kicks me!
OW! I have to limp from now on! I spot the kids and sit down. They
tell me to do tricks for treats. I love doing tricks! I can sit, lie
down, stop, come, stay, rollover, jump, spin, run, bark, jump
over,under and through things but that's about it.
I've got to go now. Bye!

Treats, don’t you love them? I mean they’re so
delicious!!!!!!!! You can eat them, and carry them around in you
mouth, and eat them, and eat them. I love the smell, the taste,
treats are just sooooooooooooooooooooo yummy. Sometimes I get them
for free, not free like no money paid for them. What I mean is, I
don’t have to do a trick. But most of the time I have to do a
trick. There are tricks like high-five. That’s easy all I have to
do is, put my paw up when she pets her paw up. I mean hand. I’m
left pawed, I don’t write with my left paw. Not that I really
write. But I do tricks easier with my left paw than my right
paw. I also do, jumping through a hula-hoop. I’m supposed to jump
through the hoop. Some times I just go under, but then I don’t get
my treat. So I’ll do the trick for the treat. Then I do jumping
over hurdles. She runs by my side while I jump over some
hurdles. The hurdles are really two milk cartons and a rod. If I
run beside her and not jump over the hurdle then we try it
again. Don’t worry, we do that outside. Excuse me for a minute; I
think I have to scream.
“OUTSIDE IS WONDERFUL, I LOVE TREATS, AND I AM THE ONLY
EDDIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay now I’m done with that, where was I? Ohh yeah, But at the end
I always get

okay, i must snuggle, or huggle. Huggle is a miz between huging
and snuggling. By what just happened, you know I'd rather
snuggle. I must dit at my kingly spot at the back of the red
chair. It is my throne, though nobody knows it. But anyway, up
there i have a great big blanket. But it's not really mine.

if your dog has fleas, you should consult your vet about what to use
to remove them. don't worry, your not alone.

never let your dog eat his own, er, poo, because it could make him

RIDGE:
Two peoples came over, yeah, yeah, Yeah! When they came home,
I was in a pile of green fuzz, it smelled like fuzz. I could smell
them when they came in the door, I think they smelled me too. Do
you want to know why? Pick me, pick me, pretty please pick
me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes! Umm, Ohh okay, thank
you. But anyway, back to me, it was because they came up and let me
out. They said I chewed my bed up, though I did not. ( a.k.a. I
did do it, but I still say I didn’t do it.) on the WALK, I smelled
lots of animals smells. There was geese, and geese poo. And there
was a tennis ball in the water, but I couldn’t go in the water. I
was on the bad leash, leashes are bad because they won’t lets you go
very far. I don’t understand why humans are not on a leash. That
is no fair. Hhuummp. Since we are talking about cats, I will talk
about it too. There is two cats a my home, on my kingdom. They
climb a lot, ( I am only saying a lot because I don’t want to say
they climb good.)I got to now, but first I got to type nuts,

Eddie:
My mommy and daddy left, with the sis’s. I went into my crate.
When they were pulling in the long road beside their house, I could
hear the noise from. . .I don’t know what it is. But I could hear
it. Dings and rings and dings and rings came from the door. I
couldn’t help but bounce around in my crate. Daria comes and lets
me out of the crate. Before she even was opening the crate door, I
could smell dog! when the door was opened I bolted out. All over
my families hands were the smell of dog. they went to another dog
without ME! Daddy is opening the backdoor, I must, must, MUST get
out to my kingdom!!!!!!!!!!! Or else………………………Ohh I don’t know what
will happen. Gotta go, my kingdom is at stake………………. EDDIE

This is Grace here writing to the dog blog for some help. My dog,
Oreo looks kinda sick today. He hasnt been very active latly -
that's a first! I'm wondering what poor Oreo has. We try to go on
walks but Oreo just lays down. if it helps, here are his simptoms:
1. Very Tired
2. Whimperering at night
3. Growling at familiar family
I hope you can help! even if you cant, thank-you!

it is sooooooo cool that soapy can do some tricks. What tricks
are they? I don't know of any dog shows yet. I will google them
later, i have to go to school in a couple minutes. Is soapy good
with her tricks with a audience? When i get some information on dog

Has he found a good home? If not i have a little advise. Try and
train him a little, then when people come to see him. They will see
what a good dog he can be. Plus, right before someone will come to
see him, try and exersise him. Then he will hopefully be tired and
more well behaved. My dog Eddie, after he has run around outside,
or been played with, he calms down. I hope that helps. And I'm
sorry i didn't respond sooner.

there is something I need to 'touch' on. tip 4 on the dog blog
is...eh.
tip 4-
if your dog jumps up on people, this is what you should do. take a
treat and tempt him/her to jump on you. when he/she does, put the
treat behind your back and say whatever word your dog has associated
with 'that was bad. then repeat this untill your dog doesn't jump.
then give him/her his/her well-earned reward. take a play break. do
whatever it takes to chill your dog out. do this exersise daily, or
whenever you get the time.
I took a bit off of the end, but that isn't important.
'take a treat and tempt him/her to jump on you. when he/she does,
put the treat behind your back and say whatever word your dog has
associated with 'that was bad.' if you temp a dog to jump on you
then said 'BAD' you will confuse the dog and the dog will never
learn to trust you. it's like if you tell a dog to come to and then
yell at the dog for coming you.

people and he gets nervous meeting many new people. We were
wondering if you had advice on how to get Mozart comfortable.

i think you should try to hold mozart, try and let mozart know you
love him/her. i hope that helps, cause, well eddie wasn't that shy.
Advice
tip 3-
Narrisa,
don't worry if your dog is shy. give him/her a month, or even a
week, till he's not new any more. he/she's probably just not
comfortable yet. plus, give him/her a lot of love and reward him/her
when he/she does something braver than usual.
tip 4-
if your dog jumps up on people, this is what you should do. take a
treat and tempt him/her to jump on you. when he/she does, put the
treat behind your back and say whatever word your dog has associated
with 'that was bad. then repeat this untill your dog doesn't jump.
then give him/her his/her well-earned reward. take a play break. do
whatever it takes to chill your dog out. do this exersise daily, or
whenever you get the time. if he/she doesn't get it at first, don't
worry. everyone learns at different speeds.
tip 5-
if your dog is scared of big crouds, the answer of what to do is
brief and simple. ask people to walk in one at a time. every time
someone walks in and he/she dousn't flinch or bark, reward him/her.
when everyone is in, say whatever word your dog has associated with
good job, and reward him/her. then ask 2 people to walk in at a
time, reward him, then three, then four, then however many you need.

Katie: Yes, Opal has fleas. Should we use flea collars? If so, what
brand? Shampoo is something we'd like an answer to, also. Does it
really work? If you can answer, it'd be great. Even if you can't

earlier i said i have never had fleas, by the way, this is eddie. My
mommy,( a human) said Frontline help kill fleas. I like dogs, well
cause i am a dog, but i hope it helps you! fleas re bad, berry bad.
