I like to provide a narrative end of year report for each of the students. This brief guide is intended to help you to understand the format. The report is broken into seven sections: Linguistic: These are summary paragraphs about the student's reading, writing, and speaking skills. Logical/mathematical: These paragraphs describe the student's computational and problem solving skills in math, and their skills in science. Spatial: These paragraphs describe the student's ability as a 2D and 3D visual designer. Musical: These paragraphs describe the student's ability as a musical composer and performer. Bodily- Kinesthetic: These paragraphs describe the student's physical abilities in sports, athletics, and drama. Intrapersonal - the person inside: These paragraphs describe the student's self image, and include my opinions about the student's core abilities and potentials. Interpersonal: These paragraphs describe the student's ability with other people.
This structure is based around the concepts explored by Howard Gardner's 'Multiple Intelligence' philosophy of Education. I hope you find, both the guide, and the reports themselves useful in helping to bring together your thoughts about the year, and to plan for the sixth grade ahead.
