Classroom Coordinators

UPDATE:

Here it is: the end of year party information. Everything you need to know provided by our noble coordinators.

Show information for parents:

We will be trying to put on a final performance for you on Wednesday, June 18th at 6:00pm and 7:00pm.

The show is a murder mystery idea created by Kathryn and voted for by the class called:

Assassin

I'm going to offer to stay behind till 4 pm on the following days to work on the set:

June 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12.

Anyone who wants to stay to work is welcome to do so, as long as they organize  in advance with their parent/guardians (no last minute phone calls!), with pick up at the usual place no later than 4:05pm!

For those parents who need to attend 8th grade graduation that night, I apologize for the inconvenience. You can come to the show during the day on Wednesday - we should be doing performances for students at the school at various times during the day.

It's not going to be possible for us to be ready any earlier than this due to the many end of year activities detailed in the calendar section. I've had this date on the calendar since late March, and for some reason the 8th grade team didn't contact me about the clash!

Show Ideas

The votes are in! Check out this page to see how well your idea did!

How to be a genius

Here is an article I found fascinating, and thought you might, too...

Hi all,

As many of you know, Brennan's last day of school is next Friday as we are going to be away beginning Memorial Day. Brennan thought it might be fun to get together with his friends on Friday 5/23 at Playstead after school for an hour or so. We'll bring drinks, snacks, and a soccer ball. Is there anything else we should bring that might be fun?

Medford soccer has tryouts at that field beginning at 4:00, so the kids will need to be off the field by then.

Hope to see many of you (or just your kids) there next Friday.

Julie
(Brennan's mom)

P.S. If the weather is dicey, we'll take a raincheck and plan a get-together some time in July when we get back. Keep you eye on the sky.

West Medford Open Studios Event

The students will be taking part in this major local community event. It is a great opportunity to link school and community.

My after school music group of 6th grade students will perform for 30 mins (1:30pm - 2:00pm).

The interested students from our class have from 1:00pm - 1:30pm to perform their songs.

To prepare for this upcoming concert, I am going to offer my Thursday afternoons from 2:45pm until 4:00pm for 'band rehearsal.' - deciding what we want to do and how we're going to do it, then preparing for the performance!

Pick up will be in the usual place at 4:00pm.

Event Summary:

Where: Brooks School Music Room

When: Saturday, May 10th

Performance Time: 1:00pm - 2:00pm

What: The Reflections and Behind The Mask

LIVE IN CONCERT!

All participating students need to show up at school (outside the cafetorium) at 11:45am on Saturday for the 'soundcheck'.
